Wildlife Women Co hosts Primitive Camping

Wildlife Women co-hosted the first annual women’s primitive camping event with the NWTF Wildcat Longbeards at the Blue Grass Sportsmen’s League in Wilmore, Kentucky on April 28-29, 2018.  Needless to say, it was a fun-filled weekend full of new friends, new adventures, and tons of new memories!

We had classes on archery, muzzleloaders, hatchet throwing, and we even had a Kentucky Fish and Wildlife biologist come out to give us some turkey talk. A huge shout out to Zack Danks for coming out on his weekend to talk to us about turkeys!

This weekend was a huge reminder to me of what Wildlife Women is all about—educating, inspiring, and encouraging women to get outdoors.  We had one participant who had no experience with any type of gun and she went out and shot a muzzleloader for the first time and hit the target at 100 yards! And even though it was FREEZING that weekend, everyone was in good spirits and had a great time!

This is going to become an annual event, so if you missed it this year mark your calendar for the last weekend in April!
