Father’s Day

Mothers have your heart but fathers have your back.

Mom’s are the skinned knee, bad day, boyfriend breakup go to parent. Fathers are different. To mom a daughter is one of her babies, while to a dad you are special. I bet your Dad would agree.

I have always called all daughters, mine or anyone else’s a “lady”. Whether 8yrs. or 80, covered in camo or in heels & pearls, they are a lady. The same as a good man is a gentleman no matter his occupation, hobbies or attire, a female is a lady.

As women move more and more into the outdoors, bring that feminine side with you. There is a tenderness and reverence for hunting & fishing that ladies bring that is needed. I bet Dads would approve.

Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher of Great Britain was nicknamed, out of respect, the “Iron Lady.” Notice the “Iron” part for her strength and determination, but also the “Lady” part. She was as tough as they come, but she was all lady. Bet her Dad had her back too.

Enjoy your dad today if you can or remember him if he now only lives in your heart.  ~ Wade Pennell
